Before Christmas Cathe Holden of, Just Something I Made blogspot hosted a giveaway for 30 x 40cm canvas wrapped prints from  Photo-Canvas to two lucky JSIM readers!  Cathe had used Photo-Canvas services previously when she turned a very special photo of her great grandparents into a wonderful piece of heirloom art.  I really loved Cathe's canvas and when she notified me that I was one of the winners I found myself wishing that we had some decent old photographs to turn into heirloom art.  But it was not to be...so I gifted the canvas to my son and daughter in-law for Christmas.  They were very happy to create their own memory art (someday to be an heirloom ;) from their trip to Spain last July.

They had SO many photos from their trip that it took them a while to pick out the ONE PHOTO for their canvas art.  Photo-Canvas was actually faster with their processing then Tim & Ashley were with their selection process ;)  Here is the first photo they provided me with of the canvas hanging up on their wall:

Fabulous Friday...Winner Winner Chicken Dinner

Wow!  What a day...with the mail man, the UPS driver, the Federal Express driver and the post office I have had!  It has been a Fabulous Fridayhere at the Love Shack with all sorts of deliveries...for which I have been the lucky recipient for...as well as a full day of wrapping rubber stamps to ship to all the lovely ladies who participated in the first Rubber Sale ;)  So quickly, before it gets really busy again...I'm taking the time the demonstrate how much I appreciate all the fantastic bloggers who keep on giving! 

First I want to thank all the lovely ladies who participated on Day 20 and Day 21, of my MASSIVE rubber stamp liquidation sale.  Collectively they raised $66.00 for one of my favorite charities, The Mercy House.  Now this might not seem like a huge amount but it is a great start for sure.  There are still plenty of great deals left...over 40 sets of rubber stamps for next to nothing! AND all of the profits will still be going to The Mercy House.  Kristen posted today about how a $3.00 donation...Spare Change to us...can really make a BIG difference so please hop on over and put your bids in NOW ;)

The other day I posted about some pretty gruesome stats and about a wonderful photographer who was able to demonstrate with his visual images just exactly what these huge numbers represent.  The message was that everyone of us can start to help our planet by first being aware and making conscious decisions in our daily lives!   Because awareness brings understanding and empathy for what these stats REALLY MEAN when we read about them or we hear about.  Also, that by making conscious decisions for how we live our daily lives then we can in turn make a difference in how we treat our planet.

F L O R A  D O O R A:  Spreading Happiness One Bag At a Time!

Jane, of Flora Doora, was celebrating her 200th post with a giveaway for this past Pink Saturday.  Flora Doora bags are handmade of medium weight cotton fabric, with an approximate size of 8" x 6" not including the handle. The bag is lined with plastic so it can hold water for your flowers!

This is an entirely new genre for me in historical novels so I'm really looking forward to it, especially after reading Amy's lovely book review.  I was so excited about it that I've placed Rome, the HBO series, into my Netflix queue (I'm such a dork...I know :)  But I'm not watching any of the until I read this book first!
