Day 22: The {31} Purge: Wood & Papier-mâché Crafts

Day 22 of The {31} Purge and I just couldn't believe it when I started pulling out all of the BOXES of wood and papier-mâché crafts...all six of them!  For years I did a lot of tole painting and my Dad use to cut out all of the shapes for me that I needed when we lived in New Hampshire.  Then we moved down here to North Carolina and it was like hitting the "mother lode" with all the fantastic craft stores.  Whenever one of the local stores closed in the Charlotte area...I pretty much stocked up on all of the great deals.  AND for the past 8-10 years all of the deals have been stored in boxes that have moved with us for the past four moves.  Beginning from the garage at our Concord home...to the garage in our Mint Hill home...to the storage unit in our Charlotte apartment...and finally...to our storage unit here in Raleigh!  So here are four boxes of un-finished wood crafts just waiting to be transformed ;}

You have to look forward. You have to begin telling the story of where you are going, not where you have been!

Chalk Talk:  Studio Sneak Peek Friday...nothing like a little blog party to get me motivated...

That and alot of rainy weather...Mother Nature is really PMSing...as someone commented ;)

So since I couldn't go out and play...I decided to finally tackle a project that I had been inspired to do for some time...that is creating a magnetic, chalk board, inspiration wall in my studio!

When we first moved into the Love Shack I had bought a couple of white ledges from IKEA because I was so inspired by the ones in their store displays.  But then after moving in...I got so overwhelmed with not having ENOUGH wall space that I lost my inspiration and put the ledges on the back burner. Actually they were on top of my dryer in my laundry room right where I'd see them every day to remind me to get off my head around it!
