Woke up this morning in Charlotte, NC to some "icky" white stuff!
Of course not everyone here in Charlotte thinks this is a bad "thang"...and we were actually woken up by little munchkins playing in it ...right under our window...sorry for the bad photo...but I was not happy climbing out of my nice warm bed...
The snow has stopped, but the rain and sleet has made everything really crunchy...and the little munchkins thought it was fun to try and make snowballs...actually "dirtballs"...which is what I wanted to call them! The really funny thing is that their "daddy" was down there with them...yeah! Guess this "lovely family" had never seen the stuff before and at 8:00am on a Saturday morning...their excitement made them totally oblivious to the fact that these tall building are actually apartments and people sleep behind these windows!
Of course I just can't get past the color of the "lake" (that's what the apt. brochure calls this body of water...we call it a pond) usually the color is green, but the brown is a nice contrast to the snow...ha!
Okay...I have one more thing to say about the "lovely family"...and I keep hearing the voice of...
"Jeff Foxworthy" saying..."You know your parents are rednecks when"...
- they send you outside to make snow balls and they don't give you any mittens or gloves.
- they send you outside to play in the snow with an umbrella.
- they run and chase you in the freezing rain on concrete stairs...
Sorry...just couldn't' stop myself...here's another "redneck" photo opp...
You know YOU are a REDNECK when you eat "Bean w'Bacon" soup with "Bugles"...
What can I say...DH was lookin' at me like...are you kiddin' me? But it's cold outside and we've taken all of our food (aka...modular mates) to the "Love Shack" in Raleigh. You see, originally, we were suppose to be driving there today to move some more things...but the weather seriously interrupted our plans. So...all we have left here in the apartment are a few cans of soup, Bugles and wine! So I'm saving the wine (and more Bugles) for later!
