Day 29 of The {31} Purge and it's old home week for sure as I pull off boxes of party supplies from the days when I was a Creative Memories Consultant. Before I was a full-time consultant, I was a professional organizer and I use to go into homes and businesses and help people clear out their clutter and help owners streamline their operations. After a couple of years of being a PO...I was tired of being a glorified house-cleaner...the TV show Hoarders is as real as it gets...trust me!
For me, the best part about being a CM Consultant was hosting the one-to-two monthly crops in my home. Creative Memories gave me a venue that still allowed me to help people get organized {but on a smaller and cleaner scale ;} that also provided me with a more rewarding and creative outlet. While helping my customers organize their photos and create their albums, I was also making a lot of great friends. AND anyone who knows me...knows just how much I love to entertain my friends and family. For me...this was the best part of all...planning the best crop parties ;}
Every crop had a theme...and all of my muses happily participated in all of the crazy activities that I had planned...even when I asked them to don their paper crowns, masks and beads and pose for a photo at this Mardi Gras par-te. I think...that they think...that they cannot be recognized...okay ;}
For as little as ten bucks...everyone in attendance...received adequate tablespace for working on their albums; loads of themed party favors; hourly giveaways and plenty of home-cooked vittles.
Then at the end of the event, there were GRAND prizes for the Queen of the Crop and her Court :}
When the weather was nice, we would take the party outdoors when we needed a break or to relax and blow off some steam...or in this case...some bubbles. {Looks like my sister was blowing smoke...thank goodness she no longer smokes ;}
Boy do these pictures bring back some great memories of some wonderful times with my friends and family. However, I don't need to hang onto all of these party favors/supplies anymore since I'm no longer in a position (or home) to host parties. I pulled out the original printed materials, and the flat pieces of ephemera that I had saved from these crops, so that I can add them to my memory album. The rest of the supplies went to the Grow N'Learn day-care along with the curling ribbons and the highsmith boxes. The teachers there love to see me coming and now they are looking forward to their next holiday celebration and to making it very festive with all of these party supplies.
How about you...do you like entertaining and throwing a party?
Not having the space here at the Love Shack to entertain as much as I would like to...can be a bit of a bummer for me. However, I don't let that stop me from celebrating with my friends and family. Now, I simply send things in the mail or I bring the party with me :}
Fondly, Roberta
The masks were the plain white ones in the craft section in Michaels that I decorated with rubbers stamps and glitter, puffy paints.

The mask looked great. Did you guys made it yourself? or did you guys bought it?

I am always excited for home week everytime we plan that. I love it when my kids who are studying in far places come to our home and spend the whole time with us.
