A few weeks ago I when I finished my Petite Patio I linked up my blog post with Thrifty Decor Chick's Spray Paint Party and found some more spray paint inspiration from Made By Megg and her Blue Elephant pedestal.
I was so inspired that I pinned It onto my Landscaping Inspiration Board so that I wouldn't forget that I wanted to spray paint my pedestal RED!
Three houses ago (going on 10 years now ;) we had a TINY poweder room with a pedestal sink and nothing else...so storage for guest towels and soaps was always a issue. So I picked up this little plaster pedestal at Garden Ridge...for like ten bucks...and hand painted it to match that powder room and it fit perfectly under the pedestal sink.
Since then, this pedestal has sat near the front door where it is GREAT for catching bags or packages on when you are trying to get your key in the lock...and the postman and the delivery guys really like it for setting all of our packages on out of the weather!
But it had started to fade and peel from being outside and I knew that it was time for a face lift ;) So I grabbed some sand paper, a sanding sponge (great for the nooks and crannies) and my DH's can of Dust-Off which was great for this because you can't water down plaster to remove the dust...it crumbles ;{
Once I finished sanding and had removed all the dust...I applied a quick coat of clear sealer to stop anymore of the remaining paint from peeling. Then I took my time and applied several coats of red paint.
Don't forget to turn it upside-down and get all those white spots that will POP out once the paint begins to dry...
Sorta looks like a fancy fire hydrant...lol That's okay...as long as those puppies STAY far away from it! Once I was done spraying it with the red paint, I then applied several coats of clear varnish and placed it back at the front door.
Of course this picture was taken when it was getting dark because I forgot about it in the back yard...DH reminded me after dinner! I've got a patriotic them going on here...just in time for July 4th!
Now this really says...WELCOME to the Love Shack!
Don't you just love it when you have an idea and it works out?
Thanks so much to Made By Megg for the inspiration.
Fondly, Roberta
That red is awsome! Love it!

That is a beautiful shade of red and it really pops. You're always up to something aren't you, and it always turns out so professional looking.
