This weekend DH and I went to Charlotte to spend time with family and friends. We were getting together to celebrate birthdays...mine and my Irish Twin sister Debbie's...Irish Twins because we are only eleven months apart and so we are both the same age from my birthday, July 29th until her birthday on September 2nd. But we were also celebrating my nephew's birthday, Wesley who turned 29 on August 19th so we all met up at one of my favorite restaurants, Maggiano's Little Italy, restaurant. We were joined by my good friends and past co-workers, Beth and Kim who just had to check out my favorite pasta dish, Chicken & Spinach Manicotti...yum ;)
But I forgot...Beth doesn't like green stuff when it comes to food...so her and Kim tried the Classic Pasta, Taylor Street Baked Ziti...lol There was something for everyone for sure...Wesley, the birthday boy, had Medallions of Beef and Mitchell tried the Chicken Parmesan.
It was a lot of fun catching up with everyone and enjoying good food with great company and I did remember to bring my point n'shoot camera so that I could get some photos of everyone. They were a little dark in the restaurant but they are still good enough to remind us of a great night.
It is so hard to get a photo of my son, Mitchell smiling and finally got a smirk out of him ;) Wesley is having fun opening up his gifts and blowing out the candles on his birthday candles...but you know they were not enough so he ordered a proper cake...NY deli style Cheese Cake that is...so good! Got a great photo of myself, Kim and Beth in her bright pink shirt and big smile...neither one of them recognized me with my new blond hair-cut ;) The nicest part about Maggiano's is that hey do not rush you and we were able to spend a couple of hours there visiting, relaxing and just enjoying the evening together. Hope that my family and friends felt the same way and will be sure to do this again real soon!!!!
Linking up this Mosaic Monday with Mary's for her blog, Little Red House.
I miss everyone! I love your hair, it looks so diffrent than what I remember, but it looks really good on you. Eveyone looks good and it sounded like a good time! Wish I could have been there too.
