Wow...my wonderful blog friend Flory of, Living Creatively with Flory, has started a new Blog Feature:
and she is such a sweetheart because she has featured my blog as her first Favorite Blog of the Week...how cool is that! THANK YOU SO MUCH FLORY...I feel very honored by this...believe it or not this is my first feature after two years of blogging...good things do come to those who wait!
Now for my regularly scheduled programming...lol...Typical Tuesday...
Here is a very simple and quick tip for keeping your salad greens fresh and crispy once you have cleaned, trimmed and/or rinsed them and then want to store them back in the refrigerator:
Simply place paper towels or napkins in the bottom of your storage container, or if you use resealable plastic bags, simply wrap the paper towels gently around the salad greens.
Then place another napkin/towel on top of your greens and...
snap your lid back onto your container...or seal your bag and they are ready to go back into the refrigerator until the next time you eat them. The reason why this works is because the paper towels draw all the excess water away from your salad greens so that they do not become soggy and limp with the excess water and thus rust or become mush before you get a chance to eat them all up! This also works great for celery and fruits like strawberries and cherries.
Hope this helps and have a great day! I'm off to make another salad cause this post made me hungry...lol
Fondly Roberta
I add a paper towel to all my veggies after I prepare them for the week. It really extends their fridge life. Keep your flag-a-wavin' this Memorial Day! Joan

Congrats, Roberta! This must be our lucky day. I just found out my teacher thank you card was chosen as a "one of our favorite finds" on the MFT blog!
