With Spring all around us, a new grand-baby and Easter this coming Sunday, I was inspired to create a special gift for my mother in honor of her first Great Grand Son.
On Pinterest, I've created a board that is dedicated to all things Baby ;} To which I recently pinned this lovely Photo Cubeinspiration. I knew that I had a couple of these paper mache cubes hanging around somewhere just waiting for the right time and photos to be applied. Since my mom doesn't have a computer...or even a smart phone...to check out my blog post from last week with the photos of Sebastian at ten-days old, it was a no-brainer that these photos were just perfect for this photo cube project.
Using Picasa to proportionately crop the photos to fit the 5 1/2" sides and bottom only took a matter of minutes. I really love the way it highlights the subject matter...tiny toes and sweet cheeks.
On the top I added some decorative papers, a bow and a smaller cropped photo with Sebastian's full name and birth-date.
Then for the bottom photo I added the quote that I had used in my blog post the photo.
All of the photos and decorative papers and bow were adhered with a dry adhesive (or what I call tacky back paper) so that they would not bubble or wrinkle and withstand the handling that this photo cube will be getting ;}
The icing on the cake for me was when the photo cube fit perfectly inside a USPS large flat-rate box...surrounded by Easter grass and some fun eggs filled with goodies and a cute little "onesie" card (template here ;) wishing Nana a Happy Easter!
Sorry for the fuzzy photo...just grabbed a quick shot with my iPhone ;} It's times like this when I send my family "boxes of love" that I really wish that my Mom did have internet access and that we could Skype one another. Until then, I'm happy knowing that they are excited when they get their boxes.
Hope everyone has a wonderful Easter, enjoying your family and counting your blessings.
Fondly, Roberta
