The weather was all over the place during {Week 4} of Project Life 2012. Sunday we had rain all afternoon with mild temperatures so it made for a very relaxing day home with hubby. Then on Monday the sun came out and it warmed everything up...so much so that the golfers were out all over the course getting their golf fix ;} Then bam...we got hit with BIG storms on Friday with huge black clouds...so much so that I found myself running out in the street to catch some shots and shared it in a blog post. The winds were blowing as well and they blew the clouds right outta here and it was clear, Carolina Blue Sky's by early afternoon...crazy I tell ya!
Today I'm sharing my completed, two-and-a-half page spread with you here on my blog and then linking my post up with Project Life Tuesday hosted by Jessica of The Mom Creative blog. I am still a week behind in completing my PL weeks and every week I tell myself that I'm going to "catch-up this week"...and low and behold...life keeps happening and the time just simply gets away from me. Oh well...it is what it is and I'm not going to get discouraged because then I'll start dreading it and giving up all together.
Still finding that I'm taking a TON of photos and that I let my photos do most of the story telling and that I don't feel the need to tag every photo or decorate every slot with some sort of ephemera...simple is best for me! Besides...I have all I can do to sort and edit and figure out which photos I do want to include...lol Then I go crazy trying to take photos of the completed pages and to find ways to cut down on the glare from the page protectors...you know the drill!
For the first page (left side facing) deep pinks and blues from the photos dictated the nine 4'x4" photo layout. In the center is one of Cathy Z's Phrase Cards from Designer Digitals that I altered as a JPG file by adding the words "Weather this week for sure!". Then I tucked the left-over "pink strip" that I cut off from the 4"x6" original Phrase Card into another 4"x4" slot with a photo of my iPhone weather for the week forecast. More photo journaling and some black dynamo labels finished off this page of fantastic weather photos ;}
For the second full 12"x12" page (right side facing) more vivid colors are found in the photos (check out that cute Pink Scooter ;) and with the stiped accent paper that I used for the title strip area. This paper is from Becky Higgin's PL Clementine papers onto which I placed the label from the bottle of wine that DH and I enjoyed that Saturday evening after cleaning up our messy house. This year DH and I are taking the opportunity to try different bottles of wine on Saturday evenings and we are paying close attention to the ingredients and where they are produced...we do not want any preservatives or chemicals added to our weekly treat!
For the additional photos I added a 6"x12" insert that holds three 4"x6" horizontal photos per side. For the front view (or right side facing) I had the photos continue along in the order of the week. Which means that when you open up the album and see the full, two-page spread, the top left-hand side of the page begins with the start of the week...Sunday and continues along...to the insert with Monday.
Here's a close-up of just the insert where you can see I've placed three mosaic photos of all my activities for the first part of the week. I'm really loving using my iPhone's "lists" and "notes" section for all my weekly errands and then capturing a photo for my album. Nothing worse than re-inventing the wheel and trying to "re-write" these lists onto journal cards...nope not moi...keep it simple sweetie ;}
Then for the back of the insert (right side facing) I placed two more photo mosaics along with a hand-journaled card that I made out of the new {My Mind's Eye} Follow Your Heart papers designed by Rhonna Farrar...love the colors and how the pinks just pop! OMG...I went crazy when I saw these papers at Archiver's...they are gorgeous!
Here's a close-up of the back side of the insert...sorry that it's a little fuzzy...thanks to the glare from the plastic protector ;} But it shows the photos that I took while out and about that week along with the beautiful journaling card/paper. Wednesday was a long day looking for craft supplies for my Doodles Unleashed project so I was watching the sunset in my rear-view mirrors and in the parking lots. After enjoying a mocha at Barnes & Noble, I passed a few homeless people coming out of the mall. Hated it that I didn't have any more "Bags of Hope" to pass out...so I gave the man that you can see in my mirror a five dollar bill...felt it was ironic that a mocha costs almost as much!
Finally got in my personalized rubber stamps that I ordered from Pick Your Plum last month for my Project Life and One Little Word Pages. There is one for each day of the week and one for JOY that you I can either stamp directly onto my photos or onto scraps of paper to add as tags to my photos.
Ahhh...it's always the little things that give such JOY in life ;} Don't you agree?
Hope you all have a wonderful week and are enjoying your Project Life adventures.
Fondly, Roberta
