Yep that's what many of us in the United States might think of these living conditions.
That is...that only after a natural disaster...such as Katrina, or the recent string of tornadoes...would we ever find such unbelievable living conditions.
As you may know, this week I am following all of the Compassion Bloggers as they witness and write about the ministry of Compassion International to children living in the Philippines.
It is so hard to watch and read at times. Especially these past few days as Kat has documented her experience with her words and her video camera as the team has visited a few of the homes. As a mother with children still in the home it will make you think twice about sending your kids outside to play for sure! Emily was also humbled by this experience and has been trying very hard to not feel guilty as she processes this entire experience.
How about you...can you find a way to be happy with where you are living right now?
Feeling sorry for these children will not help them. Feeling sorry for yourself is even worse. What they need are sponsors for the programs that Compassion International has to offer. Programs that provide for "Compassion houses" where children and families receive food, an education, medical supplies and emotional/spiritual support.
What are you waiting for? Sponsor A Child from the Philippines today!
Wow, I really can't imagine living like that on a daily basis. I never imagined it was like that over there in some parts. The video is hard to watch, especially knowing that it's daily and not just because of a disaster.
