Think About It Thursday is a brand new meme hosted by Rachel at 1001 Books. Every Thursday she will post a bookish related question, something you'll have to 'think about' a little. If you would like to participate, then either write a blog post with your answer and then be sure to share your post link on Rachel's post so that we can check out your answers.
Or, if you do not have a blog or wish to create a post, then please just answer the question in the comments for Rachel's current Think About It Thursday post.
This weeks question:
Which fictional character would you most like to have as your BFF?
Well, I have never really had a best girl friend...I have always had my sister, Debbie as my best friend in life. I tend to gravitate towards the boys and always have ;) Maybe because we moved around so much and I never did care for the drama that came with a bunch of girls!
So that being said...for a fictional character I'd have to go with Rhett Butler from Gone With The Wind!
Especially if he looked like Clark Gable who played him in the movie ;)
Think about it...Rhett was a friend to everyone...here are a few examples...
1.) First and foremost, he was a friend to Scarlett because he kept her life-long secret about her loving Ashley Wilkes and wanting to be his wife.
2.) Then he was a friend to the South and the Confederate Army by becoming a gun-runner for the cause and a Yankee pirate with. He was a friend to Miss Mellie by returning her wedding ring that she graciously donated to the cause.
3.) He was continued to be a friend to Scarlett by looking out for her welfare and try as he may...to catch her between husbands! Upon his return from Paris he brings her gifts and warns her about drinking when she is alone.
4.) When the war is almost over, he rescues Scarlet from Sherman's Raid on Atlanta and then joins the Confederate Army in a last effort to gain the respect from the Southern gentlemen that he so admires.
5.) When he is captured and put in jail by the Yankees, he ties to help Scarlett raise the money she needs to pay the taxes on Tara...but Scarlett is too impatient!
6.) He is a friend once again to Miss Mellie and Ashleywhen he provides a scandalous cover for all the Southern husbands who have gone off into the woods to clear out the riff raff who attacked Scarlett in the woods.
But...the heck with being Scarlett, Miss Mellie, Ashley or anyone else in the South...
I want to be Miss Bell Watling because she gets to have the kind of friendship with Rhett that I'd want...oh yeah!
Sorry..I digress...again! It's the fun loving, adventure seeking woman in me who has a lot of love still to give and have...as I said, I'm a hopeless romantic ;)
Think About It Thursday...try it, you'll like it ;) AND, if you have any suggestions for future questions that you would like Rachel to use then be sure to leave her a comment.
