What Works-for-Me, every summer (for the past two summers that is :), are Theresa McFadden's, Art Journaling E-Workshops! Theresa has done it again with her latest e-workshop, Between the Lines, which you can purchase at any time on her website: Paper Bella Studio.
I was so excited to open up my email after the holiday weekend and find my access code for Between The Lines, the 3rd Art Journaling Online Workshop that Theresa has created ;)
Just like Theresa's previous e-zines, A Write Place, Write Time and A Journal of Interest, for me, the best part is that you can work at your own pace! Theresa offers wonderful, detailed instructions and suggestions for how to personalize your art journal and to find your own creative style. This summer's 3rd workshop offers even more techniques and free downloads in each of the 12 lessons. AND Theresa is doing something brand this summer by offering art prompts that will inspire us all.
In the following photo you can see my Summer Art Journal where it sets out on my library table here at the Love Shack. You can see it peeking out from underneath my new leather book cover that my son, Timothy and my Darling-DL, Ashley, brought back for us from their trip to Madrid, Spain. They also got us a beautiful picture of Amalia de Llano y Dotres, condesa de Vilches, 1853 from the Museo Nacional del Prado along with a splendid bottle of Mauro, Spanish red wine (which we drank while visiting ;).
Before going up to Pittsburgh to visit with Tim & Ashley for the weekend, I had already signed up for the Between The Lines, Art Journaling Online Workshop so I wanted to save the wine bottle label to put into my summer art journal...well we couldn't get the label off without ruining it! So I packed the empty bottle in my carry-on bag and brought it back with us. Oh yeah...the security at the airport saw it on the x-ray machine and made sure that it was empty...lol So once home, I simply added some mod-podge to the label to make sure it was protected, and place my candelabra into the top so that we can enjoy the memories of the gift while we sit on the patio here this summer at the Love Shack ;) THEN for some alternative ephemera for my art journal, I saved the gift bag from the museum and then I also have this digital image that I can incorporate as well.
