For those of you who are unfamiliar with Pink Saturday, it is a weekly post hosted by Beverly on her blog, How Sweet the Sound. Beverly first started Pink Saturday by posting weekly about pink things that she found around her home. For Beverly and her mother, who lives with her, pink represents beauty, love, friendships and a common hope shared by almost everyone around the world. That was over two years ago and now Pink Saturday has turned into a wonderful way to meet other bloggers with a wide range of interests and talents.
For some time now, I have followed Beverly's blog with my google reader and this week after I bought some beautiful pink peonies at Trader Joe's, I contacted her to see if there was room for one more contributer? Beverly was so sweet with her welcoming email and so here is my first Pink Saturday post!
Can you say WABI SABI...perfectly imperfect! The first night I brought these home and placed them in a vase they started to open into big, pink, puff balls...
Above is a photo of my first completed pink dress for my Little Dresses for Africaproject that I blogged about on my other blogspot: B.O.B.I.'s Business of Bliss & Inspiration. This week at the fabric store I found a whole bunch of colorful, batik fabrics and I just couldn't resist buying some to make Little Dresses for Africa. It was actually cheaper for me to buy fabric than pillowcases and I could just imagine all those beautiful, little girls with their darn skin in these wonderful, bright fabrics...so sweet.
Then look what I found while in the fabric store...
Little pink socks with yellow butterflies...how could I NOT buy them...I don't know if they need them or not but they were on sale for less than $1.29 for TWO PAIRS! So I'll be sending the socks off with my package of dresses and I'll let Kristen who is coordinating the shipment to Little Dresses for Africa decide on what is best.
What can I say...it's been a great week and I'm just tickled PINK :}for this Pink Saturday.
