Today's challenge word prompt was Desire and Rhonna provided us with great word art and a quote...but anyone who knows me...DESIRE only means one thing to me...by DH! There is nothing that I desire more than being with him...so with that in mind...I created a "lovely" journal entry.
WARNING to anyone with children...you might want them to leave the room while viewing the rest of this post...WARNING EXPLICIT PHOTOS.
Right now my boys are rolling their eyes...ugh!
So my inspiration for these pages came from a "word art book"...when I sat down originally I had a totally different idea in my weird brain...and then I saw this book on my shelf and started thumbing through it...and I found this page...BINGO...
So next I wrote down my notes...I was going to create my own paper with this "herringbone" pattern and then sew little vellum pockets onto my pages to "tuck" little naughty nothings inside...
I am so loving these chalk inks and using them "directly on the paper"...so quick and easy and no brushes to clean after-wards...yeah! Of course I had to use card-stock because I wanted to sew onto the paper and can't do that directly in my journal.
To make the herringbone pattern...I cut a "template" from orange card-stock and then traced it onto the "ledger" paper that I wanted to mount onto my card-stock.
Once I had mounted the ledger paper...I deepened the lines with charcoal pencil...love this part. Then I collage stamped...aka...rubber-stamping images randomly...all over the two pages.
Okay...warning...explicit images coming now...
After rubber stamping, I adhered some beaded fringe...Oooh la la...and some vellum strips to the page to make "secret pockets" on my page...you know like the pillow above...Oooh la la
Look at my new "baby"...sewing machine that is! Last week Hancock Fabrics had this little craft machine on sale for $39.00...so I had to try it. First because it weighs only five pounds and second...and the most important reason...it has a "drop-in" bobbin...very important. Also, I didn't want to use my fabric machine on paper...especially when I'm using glues...nothing worse then gumming up your needles and bobbins case...ugh!
Here's a photo of the two completed pages...so pretty :}
Here is a close-up of the left side with the pockets empty...you can see the collaged stamped images and bits of ephemera.
Now here's a photo of the left side with the pictures tucked into their vellum pockets...see how I appropriately place the bits of ephemera...Oooh-la-la!
Okay... now here is the right side with the vellum pockets empty...I believe in fairies don't you?
And now with the photos...all vintage nudes were purchased from Kristine Hubick's store.
In the first pocket there is a little love note to my DH tucked inside a small manila envelope...for his eyes only! Hope you all can appreciate my DESIRE and my creative process today.
I'm off to bed now because I've been "naughty"...
