BLOG POST UPDATE: SO frustrated because between last night and this morning I have had so much trouble with my EeePC trying to complete this blog post...grrr Apparently it had something to do with the security system updates causing my EeePC to freeze up every time I was in the middle of typepad. So it's being worked on by my DH while I finish this up on my regular PC so I can get back into my STUDIO and work on this challenge.
For me the first step in starting this challenge was finding the "perfect" journal to work in...after all that's the best part..yeah! Love blank books...of all kinds...and I have managed to collect a few beautiful specimens over the years. All of them have been waiting, very patiently, to be "chosen" as the right one for the next project. Now I know that you all have a private stash that you are holding onto as well...I'm just very organized with mine and know just where to find them. My two top drawers in my console in my studio hold all my medium to large, flat albums...most of which have a pre-determined number of pages and are not expandable...just great for what I call "mini-albums" or projects. So, after assembling my Challenge workbook and reviewing the guidelines that Rhonna is providing for us in her blog posts, I found three specimens with possibilities for this project.
First up is a 7Gypsies Double Spiral Chipboard Album which has tags on the left hand side and blank pages on the right...would be cool to put the quotes and journal prompts that Rhonna is providing on the tags and my actual work and journaling on the blank pages. But not liking the little pages to work on...next... Is this "Memories" chipboard, bracket shaped album that is expandable with 8x8 pages and tabs inside:
So this lovely Green Leather number is the ONE...I found this leather bound journal at TJ Maxx for only $3.99...so you know I just had to have it! It has a real soft leather cover with a stitched signature of archival paper with just the PERFECT amount of pages that I will need to complete the 21 Days of this challenge. And the artwork that Rhonna provided in her Day 3 blog post fits perfectly in the window on the cover. As this says ENJOY THE PROCESS...that's what I'm doing...I have always loved setting up and organizing my STUFF...lol
Yep...she's a beauty! This just makes me so excited...but don't think that I was distracted by all this "process" stuff...because I wasn't...I was just thoroughly enjoying every minute of the day and here is a photo of my finished journal page for Day 1:
Ta Da! I also got a good start on Day 2 but didn't achieve a photo finish...just yet. SO I'M OFF TO MY STUDIO for the afternoon and will update my completed pages for Day 2 and Day 3 this evening. Hope you all enjoy what you are working on today, fondly, Roberta
